Why See a Wound Care Specialist?
Wound care specialists deliver cutting-edge health care. As a multidisciplinary team, the combined expertise and diverse clinical knowledge may cover a wide range of modalities to improve the patient’s wound healing and thus, improve their quality of life.A key role of a wound specialist lies in patient and family education. Wounds heal differently for everyone and improvements are not seen overnight. Wound specialists need to demonstrate patience and compassion to their patients as they navigate the often long road to recovery.

- Any wound present for more than 30 days or that fails to improve with multiple treatments or therapies
- Diabetic foot ulcers
- Lower leg ulcers
- Pressure ulcers
- Bone infection (osteomyelitis)
- Skin tears or lacerations
- Radiation burns
- Post-operative infections
- Slow or non-healing surgical wounds
- Necrotizing infections
- Failing or compromised skin/muscle grafts or flap
We care about your health
Since problem wounds are rarely the result from a single cause, we treat the whole person, not just the wound. We consider psychological, social and physical factors as well in order to develop the best treatment plan. We work closely with your primary care or referring physician to ensure the best possible outcome. We also place a major emphasis on education, teaching you how to care for your injury to enhance the healing process.
Chronic wounds can be the result of diabetes, poor circulation or other medical conditions. A multi-discipline staff of clinicians administer the latest medical treatment for persistent wounds, as well as educate patients on ways to protect themselves from developing chronic wounds.
